Northern Regards Artisan Market is excited to welcome back…
Make It Wednesday
We love the quirky and unique and this market wanted to get to know a little more about our returning stallholders, so we asked them some questions…
Why do you choose to use recycled/upcycled or sustainable pieces in your handmade craft ?
Aside from eco-friendly reasons, I enjoy the challenge of turning what might be considered rubbish into something new. For example, an old pair of socks can be turned into a quirky sock monster with a bit of imagination and a few stitches here and there. An inspirational cocktail helps, too…
Why is handmade important to you ?
Handmade products keep traditional craft practices alive, and they have more character than mass-made goods. The stories behind handmade items are often as unique as the items themselves, so if something grabs your eye at Northern Regards, ask the maker about it!
Which is your favorite Melbourne suburb and why ?
I’m too fickle to have a favourite! Collingwood and Fitzroy for the bars and shops, Footscray for food, Richmond for the Corner Hotel, Windsor for op shops and bars, Northcote for Northern Regards!
** Editors note – Great answer ! Especially the Northcote answer !! **
When you are not making or selling at markets, what would we find you doing ?
Trying to avoid being killed by my ever-growing army of zombie hamsters. You can see them at my market stall. They won’t bite….much.
Coffee or tea ? Wine or beer ?
So come on down to Northern Regards Artisan Market on Saturday 2nd November 11am til 4 at Northcote Social Club and enjoy a vino and the unique Make It Wednesday……and if you’re brave……the Zombie Hamsters !
We can’t wait to see you there!
