3 favourite things about Christmas

I love the coming together of circles – friendship, family, work, kids…. explorations of the diversity of my community.

I love the forging of bonds – the new people that I celebrate Christmas with and count as family and the loud and brassy conversations to be had over Christmas dinner.

I love the 3 sharp edges of finishing last minute things, rushing towards the January lull and knowing it will all happen again next year.

Three favorite things about Christmas

Getting together with the family and also our friends.

As a child I loved Christmas Eve which is my Christmas (German background) as we got to open our presents that night and not have to wait until Christmas Day.

Eating some wonderful food and plum pudding with lots of custard and then sleeping it off on the couch later.

Here’s what the lovely Tra La La had to say about sustainable, craft and favorite drinks…

Why do you choose to use recycled/upcycled or sustainable pieces in your handmade craft ?

I love to see things being transformed and in a way, reincarnated into something new.

Why is handmade important to you ?

The fact that it’s not some mass produced item that every second person has.

Which is your favourite Melbourne suburb and why ?

West Footscray. My home town. I love the sense of community and have many fine childhood memories.

When you are not making or selling at markets, what would we find you doing ?

Spending time with those nearest and dearest to me.

Coffee or tea ? Wine or beer ?

Wine, beer, spirits. If it’s pouring, I’m drinking. Coffee (especially after a night of the prior).

2014 Markets Dates

Northern Regards is very excited to announce our 2014 dates!

What an amazing first year we have had! So many great stallholders and such great support from the public too… so we have decided to do a market a month in 2014, starting on February 1st!
